THEPS Newsletter #27: Summer’s officially here! It’s time… to work?

Hello,

The astronomical summer has begun! We’re all dreaming of walking around the markets in Catania, exploring Czech villages or just relaxing with a book during a staycation.

We might be funny, but we also must be honest with you (this is why you’ve subscribed after all). While it’s the season to relax, it’s also the season to surpass your rival organisations. We know, we know. Some of you have a lot of work - trainings, mobilities, and last-minute reporting. Channel your energy into an excellent project. Talk to potential partners now.

Start writing your new project now. Do not leave it for September!

Are the published results terrible? Not necessarily. Some NAs have already contacted the coordinators of funded projects (Slovenia, Finland and Sweden, for example), but the full results have not been published yet. We’re sharing some of the available ones. Also, please note that some other KA results have been announced. We’re only publishing chosen ones so that we can compare them with last year’s.

This issue offers:

  • Some results from France, Iceland, Malta, Norway, Poland and Romania
  • What the Future Holds

Some results from France, Iceland, Malta, Norway, Poland and Romania

THEPS data card for France: projects submitted, projects funded and funding rate by Key Action, March 2026 compared with March 2025.

More projects were submitted and funded in France in 2026, but the overall funding rate was slightly lower: 83.9% in 2026 and 86.5% in 2025.

THEPS data card for Iceland: number of projects funded by Key Action, March 2026 compared with March 2025.

March 2026 total funded: 125. March 2025: 104

THEPS data card for Malta: number of projects funded by Key Action, March 2026 compared with March 2025.

141 in March 2026, compared with 113 in March 2025.

The biggest jump is in Youth, especially KA153-YOU, which more than doubled from 7 to 17. VET and ADU also improved nicely, while School Education remained strong but showed slight mixed signals: KA121-SCH increased, while KA122-SCH decreased.

THEPS data card for Norway: number of youth projects funded by Key Action, March 2026 compared with March 2025.

47 funded youth projects in March 2026, compared with 42 in March 2025.

THEPS data card for Poland: projects submitted, projects funded and funding rate by Key Action, March 2026 compared with March 2025.

Polish organisations are submitting projects by the truckload. Ha! But no accreditation means a smaller chance to be funded…

THEPS data card for Romania: projects submitted, projects funded and funding rate for youth and sport Key Actions, March 2026 compared with March 2025.

Romania funded more projects this year than last. The country also shows more submissions for every listed action in March 2026, but funding rates mostly declined. Youth actions grew strongly in volume, especially KA152-YOU and KA154-YOU, but success became more competitive. The clearest positive story is KA153-YOU, where funded projects increased from 16 to 23. Sport also improved in funded projects, from 21 to 26, although the funding rate dropped.

What the Future Holds

More results to come! No one else announces them as we do, so stay tuned!
